Audience Development Associate, The Transmitter
The Transmitter is an essential resource for the neuroscience community, dedicated to helping scientists at all career stages stay current in their field and build connections. We are looking for an enthusiastic Audience Development Associate to help expand our audience and develop meaningful collaborations with neuroscientists, research institutions and professional neuroscience associations internationally.
The Audience Development Associate will play a key role in helping to grow our readership among neuroscientists across a range of subfields. The Audience Development Associate will identify opportunities to forge new partnerships and nurture current relationships that align with our mission to build bridges across neuroscience and advance research. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, passionate about neuroscience and enjoys meeting new people and cultivating relationships.
This is a full-time position based in the Simons Foundation offices in New York City.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Research and identify potential partners, including individual neuroscientists, research institutions, labs, universities and professional neuroscience associations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the neuroscience community.
• Contribute to strategies to foster growth in important audience segments, such as early-career researchers.
• Work closely with the editorial team on partnership strategy and content plans, to optimize the value and impact for both The Transmitter and any prospective partners.
• Collaborate with the partners on the development of co-branded email newsletters. Work closely with The Transmitter and partners’ production teams to deploy the newsletters.
• Track the progress and impact of partnerships, providing regular reports and presentations to senior management.
• Coordinate with The Transmitter’s legal team to draft and manage new contracts.
• Travel occasionally to attend partner meetings, events and conferences.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field, with a strong interest in neuroscience. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in marketing, project management or a related role, preferably within the scientific or academic community.
• Software-proficient and eager to learn new platforms—must be conversant in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Adobe Suite and Mailchimp is helpful but not essential.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
• The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000, depending on experience.
