Branding & Visual Communication with the African-American Graphic Designers

The African-American Graphic Designers (AAGD) is led by Terrence Moline and Dave McClinton. In this episode, we talk about the importance of branding and visual communication as an entrepreneur.

Terrence's Bio:

Terrence Moline is an art director, designer and illustrator with over 25 years of experience creating thoughtful commercial art for clients in the non-profit, higher education, social justice, and hospitality industries. Terrence has a focus for finding function in the discarded and efficiency in simplicity. His priority is listening attentively and being flexible enough to form creative collaborations to build mutual and respectful relationships. Terrence is an avid aggregator of information and skills that assist in providing broad perspectives and unique approaches to problem-solving. Currently, his interests are martial arts, community building, and interpersonal communications.

Dave's Bio:

Dave McClinton has been a creative professional for more than two decades. His expertise in branding consultations, corporate identity, and web design has been developed by participating in every level of the creative process. As an accomplished senior designer, he is passionate about advancing the strategic value of smart design. That knowledge and drive has been earned within the publishing world, tech startups, and design studios.

He earned a BFA in Visual Communication at Texas State University at San Marcos. Dave has been published for his logo design work in the Print Regional Annual and Logo Lounge publications. Dave is a key collaborator and core team member of African American Graphic Designers (AAGD). He is also a member of the Austin chapter of The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

Dave is also an emerging artist who began exhibiting his personal work in 2015. His work as a graphic designer has been to communicate quickly and efficiently and that economy of the message can be applied to art. Dave combines his love of photography, art, and graphic design to create works that speak to the viewer by communicating something specific and obvious but also harboring subtexts that require repeated viewing or discussion.
